As a multi-dimensional creative, writer, and educator, my career has been shaped by a commitment to fostering creativity, literacy education, and cultural engagement. I am proud to share some of my most recent achievements, fellowships, and professional collaborations, each of which reflects my passion for storytelling, mentorship, and community involvement.

Grants & Fellowships: 

  • February Awesome Foundation Grantee for Senior Stories 2021
    Awarded to support storytelling projects aimed at amplifying the voices of seniors through creative narrative.

  • McCartt Fellowship/Eckerd College Writers of Paradise 2021
    An exclusive fellowship recognizing emerging writers, offering a space to develop new work alongside established literary voices.

  • James Weldon Johnson Foundation Fellow 2022
    Honored as a artist fellow in recognition of my commitment to creative writing and cultural history.

Exhibitions & Performances: 

  • Solo Exhibition: Seed and Story at City Arts Orlando (2022)
    Curated and presented a solo exhibition that explored the intersection of personal narrative, cultural memory, and visual storytelling. Through mixed media, the exhibition invited viewers to reflect on the power of storytelling in preserving history and identity.

  • Performer for Aspen Ideas Climate Summit | Miami Beach (2024)
    Performed in collaboration with AfroDiaries, using art, storytelling, and dance performance to address climate change. at the Aspen Ideas Climate Summit and engage the audience in discussions about sustainability, culture, and the global climate crisis.

Educational & Community Engagement: 

  • Judge for New Jersey Teen Arts Festival 2022
    Served as a judge, evaluating and encouraging young, emerging artists in various disciplines including writing, performance, and visual arts.

  • Curriculum Writer and Teaching Artist for Adrienne Arsht Center “I AM Me” Tour 2022

       Developed curriculum and facilitated workshops that empowered youth to explore identity                       through creative expression and storytelling, aligning with the "I AM Me" initiative.

  • Professional Development Presenter for Adrienne Arsht Center (2023/2024)
    Led professional development workshops for educators and artists, focusing on best practices for integrating the arts into education.

  • Writing Workshop Facilitator for Adrienne Arsht Center Apprentice Program (2024)
    Facilitate writing workshops with young aspiring artists, nurturing the next generation of storytellers and educators.

Project Development & Mentorship: 

  • Earthseed Black Family Archive Project, Sponsored by Northwestern University Women’s Center (2022)
    Contributed to the development of this project, focused on preserving and amplifying the stories of Black families, with a special emphasis on oral histories and cultural memory.

  • Developmental Editor for Arsht Center Resource Guide for Busy Bee’s Great Adventure (2023)
    Worked as a developmental editor, refining and organizing the content of a key resource guide for the Arsht Center’s educational programming, ensuring it was accessible and impactful for educators.

  • Mentor for NYC Roundtable’s New York State Teaching Artist Mentorship Program (2024)

       Providing mentorship to teaching artists, helping them develop the skills necessary to succeed in             both educational and creative careers.
